The Alpengasthaus Hohe Burg is located in the small, cosy village of Trins in the Gschnitztal, a side valley of the Wipptal in Tyrol, only a few minutes' drive from the Brenner motorway, making it easy and quick to reach from any direction. By car, but also by public transport.
If you are travelling to Trins by car, take the Brenner motorway (A 13) from Innsbruck (Austria) to the Matrei/Brenner exit. From there, take the Brenner federal road to Steinach am Brenner. Right at the beginning of the village, the main road branches off to the right into the Gschnitztal valley.
From here, it is only 4 km until you reach your holiday destination! When you arrive in Trins, the Alpengasthaus Hohe Burg is only a few hundred metres after the centre of the village on the right-hand side. And you're there!
In addition to parking spaces for our guests, there is also an e-charging station for charging your e-car ( against a fee).
With public transport, you can travel in a climate-friendly and relaxed way and start your holiday while you're still on the way, with a good book, watching the passing landscape or sleeping, so that you arrive completely refreshed.

The train goes first to Innsbruck. Coming from Germany, these are some of the connections to the Tyrolean capital:
- 7x daily from Munich with the Eurocity
- 1x daily e.g. from Mannheim, Stuttgart with Intercity
- 1x daily with Nightjet from Düsseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Hanover
Once you have reached Innsbruck main station, continue with the S3/S4 express train in the direction of Brenner to Steinach am Brenner station. Once there, take either bus line 4146 in the direction of Gschnitz to the Trins - Tiroler Hof stop, where you will find the Alpengasthaus Hohe Burg just 100 m away. Alternatively, you can take our shuttle bus (for an additional charge), which will take you from Steinach railway station to Hohe Burg in just a few minutes.
The climate-friendly train journey from there to Matrei or Steinach doesn't take much longer – and the ticket for this route and all bus lines to the mountain valleys is already included in the guest card as a ‘travel voucher’. The travel voucher can be obtained in advance from your accommodation on request. Innsbruck is easily accessible by train from all over Europe.
